Mechanics Prototyping

EXP drops with their VFX

I turned Tank Game into a survivors roguelike with random enemy spawning, EXP and level ups which allowed the player to choose from stat increases or a new weapon.

5 different weapons were available all with their own secondary ability which automatically went off.

​

I created multiple unique enemies with their own mechanics such as the Turtler which periodically raised a shield that made it invulnerable for a short period of time.

​

Tank Game was a solo unit I completed for my Mechanics Prototyping module during my 1st year at Staffordshire University.

 

We were provided a framework for Unreal Engine 5 to use to expand upon the basic movement and shooting mechanics already in the game.

I used this opportunity to get back into using Unreal Engine as it had been a while since I worked on making games.

​

I overall scored an 85 on this unit, with a 40/40 marks for my Quality of Blueprint Mechanics.
